Meet the Artist: Sophie Clima × The Southern Peacock
Something beautiful is coming to the mahjong table.
The Southern Peacock is thrilled to introduce a very special collaboration with artist Sophie Clima—a partnership that brings together art, Southern style, and our shared love of creating beautiful spaces for gathering and play.
Meet Sophie Clima
Sophie Clima's artwork immediately captured our attention. Her distinctive use of color, pattern, and playful details creates pieces that feel sophisticated while still being full of personality.
When we began imagining a collection that could transform the mahjong table into something truly special, Sophie's artwork felt like a natural fit.
And so, Sophie Clima × The Southern Peacock was born.
From Artwork to the Mahjong Table
This collaboration is about more than placing artwork on a mahjong product.
Together, we're taking inspiration from Sophie's art and translating it into an entire mahjong experience.
The Southern Peacock selected favorite elements and details from Sophie's work, while Sophie brought those ideas to life through original artwork created especially for the collection.
The result?
A mahjong mat and coordinating tile set where the smallest details become part of the story—from the suits and special tiles to the artwork surrounding the table.
We aren't revealing everything just yet.
But we can tell you this: you'll want to look closely at every tile.
Art Made to Be Played
At The Southern Peacock, we've always believed the mahjong table should be as beautiful as the game itself.
Mahjong is about so much more than tiles. It's friends gathered around a table. It's conversation, laughter, traditions, and memories made one game at a time.
This collaboration brings that philosophy together with Sophie's artistic world to create something designed not only to be played—but enjoyed, displayed, talked about, and treasured.
The Reveal Is Coming
Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, inspiration from the artwork, and sneak peeks as we prepare to reveal the Sophie Clima × The Southern Peacock Collection.
